How to find and export your log file in WKO4

If you need to review syncing information and/or troubleshooting issues, you may be asked to export your log file. Here's how.

To access your log file on Mac and PC:

  • Open WKO4.
  • Click the Help menu in the top bar.
  • Click Locations and select Log File.
  • Attach the file named "wko4.log" (or simply "wko4" if file extensions are not shown) to your email or support ticket. This is your most recent log file and is the most important.
  • In the log file folder there may also be several compressed folders entitled "wko4.log.1", "wko4.log.2", etc. These are archived log files that are also helpful; please include them when submitting logs for troubleshooting.

If for any reason you cannot open or access WKO4, the typical locations for the log file are as follows:

  • PC: Local Disk (C:) > Users > UserName > AppData > Local > WKO4
  • Mac: Users > Username > Library > Logs > WKO4
    • If the Library folder isn't visible, hold down the Option/Alt button on your keyboard and click the Go menu at the top of the Mac Finder bar; the Library folder will be listed there.

The log file may occasionally be too large to attach to an email without compressing it. If compression is required, here's how to do it:

To compress and save the log on Mac:

  • Control-click on the file named “wko4.log”.
  • Select "Compress wko4.log."
  • Copy and paste (or drag and drop) the resulting compressed folder to your desktop or email.

To compress and save the log on PC:

  • Right-click on the file named "wko4.log".
  • Click "Send to" and select "Compressed (zipped) folder."
  • Copy and paste (or drag and drop) the resulting compressed folder to your desktop or email.
