How to Find Your Log in WKO5

How to Find Your WKO5 Log

When troubleshooting problems with WKO, you will likely be asked to provide your log file. Here's how.

To access your log on Mac and PC:

  1. Open WKO.
  2. Click the Help menu in the top bar.
  3. Click Locations and select Log File.
  4. Your log is the file named "wko5.log" (or simply "wko5" if file extensions are not shown). This is the file to attach to your email or support ticket.
  5. In the same folder, there may also be several compressed folders entitled "wko5.log.1", "wko5.log.2", etc. These are older, archived logs that are also helpful; please include them when submitting logs for troubleshooting.

If for any reason you cannot open WKO, the typical locations for the log file are as follows:

  • PC: Local Disk (C:) > Users > UserName > AppData > Local > WKO4
  • If the AppData folder isn’t visible, click the View tab at the top of Explorer, and in the Show/hide section, tick the box for “Hidden items” to show any hidden files.
  • Mac: Users > Username > Library > Logs > WKO5
  • If the Library folder isn't visible, hold down the Option/Alt button on your keyboard and click the Go menu at the top of the Mac Finder bar; the Library folder will be listed there.

The log file may occasionally be too large to attach to an email without compressing it. If compression is required, here's how to do it:

To compress and save the log on Mac:

  1. Control-click on the file named “wko5.log” (or simply "wko5" if file extensions are not shown).
  2. Select "Compress wko5.log."
  3. Copy and paste (or drag and drop) the resulting compressed folder to your desktop or email.

To compress and save the log on PC:

  1. Right-click on the file named "wko5.log".
  2. Click "Send to" and select "Compressed (zipped) folder."
  3. Copy and paste (or drag and drop) the resulting compressed folder to your desktop or email.
