How To Reinstall WKO5 And/Or Save The WKO5 Data Folder When Reinstalling

Uninstall/Reinstall on a PC

  1. Open WKO5.
  2. Click on the Help menu in the PC Bar and click Locations>Data Store. This will open the folder containing your data folder; leave it open and return to WKO.
  3. Click on the Help menu in the PC Bar again and click ACTIVATE.
  4. In the activation window, highlight your entire registration code, copy it, and paste it into another document (you'll use it later).
  5. In the activation window, click Deactivate WKO. This will close WKO.
  6. In the folder opened previously, rename your data folder to something like "WKO Saved" or similar.
  7. Uninstall WKO using Control Panel > Programs and Features.
  8. Delete the folder titled "WKO4" in this location: OS (C:) > Users > UserName > AppData > Local. This does NOT delete any of your data.
    • The AppData folder is sometimes hidden by Windows; to unhide it, click the View tab on your Explorer window ribbon and tick the box by “Hidden items” in the Show/hide section of the ribbon.
  9. If it is present, delete the folder titled "WKO5" in this location: OS (C:) > Program Files (x86) > TrainingPeaks. This does NOT delete any of your data, and the uninstall process may have deleted this folder automatically.
  10. Download and reinstall WKO5 from here: https://home.trainingpeaks.com/wko5/downloadtrial
  11. Enter your license key when prompted.
  12. Select "Sync with TrainingPeaks account" in the setup wizard, enter your TrainingPeaks account information, and allow WKO to perform a complete sync.

If you need to use your saved data folder in the new installation, here's how:

  1. Please note that if the reason you are reinstalling WKO5 is that your data has become corrupt, do NOT return to your saved data folder, as the problems will come back.
  2. When installing WKO, choose the "New Install" option in the setup wizard and enter "dummy" athlete information when prompted.
  3. When WKO launches, click Tools>Preferences.
  4. In the Preferences window, click the data store location browse button and select the folder you renamed earlier.
  5. Close WKO and reopen it. Give it time to calculate and load all the data.
