TrainingPeaks Virtual allows you to put on your events, customized just as you like them. Available from the options menu, the event organization menu allows you to create, edit, broadcast, and review the results from custom events.
Event Creation / Editing
The event creation (and subsequent editing) menu allows you to set up an event, just as you want it. Options include:
- The name/description of your event.
- When it will be run.
- The type of race (scratch, points, elimination, time trial).
- For points races, the number of points to be awarded at each location on the course.
- For elimination races, the number of riders to be eliminated at each location on the course.
- The ideal size of field it is designed for. For example, points or elimination races are typically more enjoyable with a smaller field than scratch races or time trials.
- The course and number of laps.
- Ambient conditions – average wind speed, weather type, and what in-game time of day it is held at.
- Whether or not it is for human riders only.
- Whether or not it is for female riders only.
- Whether or not there should be automated matchmaking of abilities into different pens.
- Whether or not the results should impact your ranking.
- Whether or not lapped riders should provide draft for the leaders.
- Whether or not to override every player's trainer feel settings, and set them to maximum.
- What Custom Event Branding to use.
Additional options can easily be added on request.
Event Broadcast / Streaming
Event organizers can access a special “Broadcast / Stream” menu which allows them a configurable camera view into their event, without needing to take part in the event themselves. This view can be set up for broadcast or streaming to look just as you want, toggling on/off any individual UI elements (or having them all turned off, so you just receive the raw footage and can overlay your own UI in a 3rd party program), and changing camera positions and the riders they focus on as and when you wish.
Event Results
After an event has been completed, the results of each race can be viewed in-game. In addition, these results can also be exported to CSV files, allowing you to easily run event series and/or feed the results into 3rd party programs to create your own graphics style for presentation.
