1. Coach Account Settings

1.1 Account

Profile

  • Create/update your Public Profile. Your public profile will appear in the coach directory and will allow potential clients to find you. Make sure you optimize your profile so it sets you apart from your competition!
  • Update your personal information (Name, address, birthdate, etc.)
  • Upload a profile photo. This photo will be used in your Public Profile
  • Upload your own logo which your athletes will see when they log into their account.
  • Choose whether or not to display the TrainingPeaks logo in your account, this is also what your athletes will see.
  • Update/Verify your email address (email address must be verified to receive comment and post workout notifications, and/or newsletter)
  • Change Password

  • Update these links with the URLs for your coaching website
    • Header Link: When your athlete clicks the logo at the top of their account they will be taken to this page. Update it with the link to your website to represent your brand.
    • Login Failed URL: Leave this one as-is. If your athlete is not able to log in they will be taken to this page
    • Logout URL: When your athlete logs out of their TrainingPeaks account they will be taken back to this link, update it with your website URL.

  • Opt in for the TrainingPeaks newsletter to stay up to date on the latest feature updates and continuing education opportunities. 

Notifications

  • Enable/Disable notifications such as uploaded workouts, comments from your athletes, or suggested threshold changes.
  • NOTE: Some of these features are for premium features and require the athlete to have a premium account

1.2 Layout

'Layout' allows you to customize what you see on your calendar, the week summary, QuickViews,  and what metrics are available. Note: this does NOT affect what your athletes see.

Calendar

  • Moving data items from 'available' to 'in use' will make them visible on your calendar. Use less data items to save room on your calendar.

Compliance

  • Completed workouts will colorize based on compliance with planned duration, distance, or TSS. Moving the data item up or down in the list prioritizes it with top being given top priority.
  • Within 20% the workout will turn green, within 50% it will turn yellow, and over or under by more than 50% will turn red.

QuickViews

  • Dragging data items from 'Available' to 'In Use' makes the fields visible in the workout QuickViews.
  • These settings are sport specific allowing QuickViews to be configured differently for different sport types.

Metrics

  • Dragging metrics from 'available' to 'In Use' makes the metrics available when adding a metric on your calendar.

Week Summary

  • Note: You must have a completed Annual Training Plan (ATP) for these items to appear.

4. Dashboard

  1. Drag and drop charts to your dashboard from your charts library 2016-09-13_13-18-15.
  2. Customize charts under under settings 2016-09-14_16-07-39.
  3. Add the same chart multiple times but customize it to view the data for different date ranges, sports, or in a different way.
  4. The Performance Manager Chart allows you to model your Fitness, Fatigue, and Form to help you plan the perfect peak for your athlete's goal Event.

Athlete Zones

Heart Rate, Power, Speed/Pace

  • Set athlete's thresholds and zones
    • Typically
      • Heart Rate for Bike and Run
      • Power for Bike
      • Speed/Pace for Run and Swim
    • Note: if you do not set a threshold for a specific sport and upload that sport type 'default' will be used.
    • Note: Setting athlete's thresholds and zones is extremely important since all of the TrainingPeaks metrics are based on thresholds.

Nutrition

  • Enter a daily calorie goal based on how many calories you want the athlete to consume exluding those that they would burn through exercise,. This number will be combined with the caloric expenditure from exercise and displayed in dashboard charts that display calories consumed vs calories expended

Equipment

  • Add bikes and/or shoes to track the mileage. Equipment can be selected from the workout QuickView and mileage will automatically accrue based on completed workouts

7. Workout Library

  • Click the + icon to create a new workout library.
  • Save workouts created on your calendar to your workout library by dragging and dropping into the library
  • Rename a workout library by clicking the  hamburger icon

8. Training Plan Library

Create Training Plans which can be applied to athletes or sold in the TrainingPeaks plan store.
