Training plans are a great way to streamline your coaching workflow while still delivering highly personalized guidance. These will allow you to design, customize, and maintain a comprehensive structure of workouts and goals in a single, efficient place.
How to start a Training Plan
- Log in to your TrainingPeaks Coach Account
- From the Calendar view, click Training Plans
- Click + and select Training Plan
- Name your plan
- Unless you toggle the dynamic plan option, your training plan will be Standard

- Click Create
- Your new training plan calendar will appear. You can now begin adding workouts to the training plan.
How to build a Training Plan
Once you have created your plan, you can start adding workouts the same way as you would plan for an athlete. Coaches generally create training plans either from scratch or using workouts from their Workout Library.
To add workouts to the training plan calendar, you can use the following options:
- Add directly to the calendar by clicking the + on any day, and create a workout
- Drag and drop from your Workout Library
- Copy and paste from another day on the plan
- Using Dual Calendar, drag and drop workouts from an athlete or another plan
