Athlete Availability/Limited Availability

TrainingPeaks Premium athletes (and coaches) can add an athlete’s training availability to their TrainingPeaks calendar to increase the efficiency of workout planning for their coach.

The Training Availability feature offers two distinct availability options: Unavailable and Limited Availability. 

How to Add Availability

  1. In a TrainingPeaks Premium athlete account, navigate to the TrainingPeaks calendar.
  2. Select the '+' icon on the day to which you'd like to add unavailability.
  3. From the pop-up window, select "Availability."
  4. An Availability Wizard opens. 
  5. Under ‘Training Availablity’ choose “I am unable to train’.
  6. Choose the date range for days you are unavailable to train.  By default, TrainingPeaks creates one day of unavailability.  Change the date range to add more.
  7. If desired, type in a description of why the day is unavailable for better communication with your coach.
  8. When finished, save.
  9. The day of unavailability appears on your TrainingPeaks calendar. 

How to Add Limited Availability

  1. In a TrainingPeaks Premium athlete account, navigate to the TrainingPeaks calendar.
  2. Select the '+' icon on the day to which you'd like to add limited availability.
  3. From the pop-up window, select "Availability."
  4. An Availability Wizard opens. 
  5. Under ‘Training Availablity’ choose ‘I have Limited Availability’.
  6. An additional drop-down appears called ‘Available Sport Types’.
  7. Click the down arrow and select at least one available sport type.
  8. Optional: choose a ‘Reason’ from the drop-down menu. 
  9. Optional: enter a description.
  10. Click save.

Limited Availability, in contrast to Unavailability, appears on the calendar with a yellow tag on the far left corner of the availability card. To see the details of the Limited Availability, hover over the header of the card.

How to Edit/Move/Delete Availability/Limited Availability

  1. Locate the unavailable day you wish to modify.
  2. If you want to change the description, select the unavailable day, left-click the header on the unavailable card, and select the 'pencil' icon. The unavailable wizard will open and you can modify the description.  When finished, click 'save' and your changes will be saved.
  3. If you want to move it, left-click and drag the day to another day.  The day to which you will drop it will highlight in faint gray on the calendar. 
  4. To delete an unavailable day, select the unavailable day, left-click the header on the unavailable card, and select the 'trash-bin icon.  You will be prompted to confirm the unavailable deletion.  Select delete and the unavailable day will be removed from the athlete's calendar. 

 

Of Note:

  • Availability and Limited Availability is a TrainingPeaks Premium feature. 
  • Both TrainingPeaks Premium athletes and their attached/shared coaches can add/edit/move/delete an athlete's Availability/Limited Availability.
  • Coaches can still schedule a workout on an athlete's unavailable day.  
  • Neither Coaches or athletes can lock or hide unavailable days on an athlete's calendar.
