To facilitate seamless communication beyond daily training, Notes allow coaches and athletes to exchange important, non-workout-specific information. Some functions of this feature are limited for Basic Athletes.
How to add a Note
- Log in to either a TrainingPeaks Premium Athlete or Coach Account
- Click the + on the day to which you'd like to add a Note
- Choose Note
- Enter a Note Title (required) and any additional information in the Note Description
- Click Save & Close
- The new Note will now appear on the TrainingPeaks Calendar

Please note that the upload attachment limit is 22MB.
Move, Copy, or Delete a Note
Moving a Note
- On the Calendar, find the Note you'd like to move
- Click on the Note
- Drag the Note to the day you'd like to move it to and drop it
Copying a Note
- On the Calendar, find the Note you'd like to copy
- Hover over it with your cursor and click the ☰
- Select Copy
- Find the day to which you'd like to paste the Note and click ☰ on the top of the day's header.
- Select Paste
Deleting a Note
- Find the Note that you'd like to delete
- Click the ☰ icon on the Note
- Select Delete
- Confirm that you want to delete the Note
- The Note is now deleted and cannot be retrieved
Please note that we cannot retrieve your Note after it has been deleted.
Commenting on a Note
- Find the Note and open it
- Use the Comments field to input your thoughts and click the send icon to submit
- You can use
to edit your comment, if needed
- Comments will be listed with the user's name who made the comment
Please note that you can only edit and delete your own comment.
Add a Note to a Workout Library
- While in the Calendar, click on Workout Library
- Find the Note that you'd like to add to your Workout Library
- Drag the Note into the desired Workout Library. The workout library to which the Note will be added will be highlighted
- Drop the Note into the Workout Library
- If successful, a brief message appears confirming the addition of the Note
- If you wish to move the Note to another Workout Library, drag the Note from the current Library into a different one
Displaying Notes on Calendar
If you want more space on your TrainingPeaks Calendar, you can remove Notes from it by unchecking it in the Calendar Settings.
- Navigate to the Calendar
- Click the Calendar Settings icon in the top right of the Calendar
- A drop-down window will appear. Uncheck Notes
- Notes will no longer appear on the Calendar
- Check the box for Notes to reappear
Hiding a Note (Coaches Only)
- When logged in as a TrainingPeaks Coach, load the athlete's calendar that contains the Note you'd like to hide
- Find the Note
- Click the ☰ over the Note
- Select Hide
- Once hidden, a small eye icon appears on the top right of the workout card
- To unhide it, select the ☰ again and the Note will be unhidden
Please note:
- When a Note is hidden, other coaches attached to the athlete's account will be able to see the Note.
- When creating a Note as a coach, you have the choice to make the Note visible or invisible to the athlete by clicking the three dots in the top right.
Add a Note to a Training Plan (Coaches Only)
TrainingPeaks Coaches can add a Note to a training plan to add clarity to workouts, mention non-workout-related areas of focus, and upsell other products or services.
- Open a training plan
- Click + on the desired day to which you'd like to add a Note
- Select Note
- Add your Note Title and Note Description
- Click Save or Save & Close
Please note that Notes on a training plan cannot be hidden.
What happens when a TrainingPeaks Athlete detaches from a Coach?
- If an Athlete is detached from Coach, Notes created by Coach will still show on the Athlete’s calendar.
- Hidden notes will not show once detached unless reattached and Coach unhides.
- If an athlete detaches from a coach who had Notes for this athlete, and the athlete subsequently attaches to a DIFFERENT coach (independent of the first), the prior Notes, hidden or unhidden, will be visible to the new coach.
