  1. Install TrainingPeaks Virtual: Go to the App Store on your Apple TV, search for "TrainingPeaks Virtual," and download the app.
  2. Log In: Open the app and log in with your TrainingPeaks account details.
  3. Pair your smart training devices with Apple TV as described below for optimal performance.

Tips for Navigating with the Apple TV Controller

The Apple TV controller is unique, and it can take some getting used to. Here are our top tips:

  • Use the Touchpad Gradually: For better responsiveness, slide your finger across the touchpad slowly and gently. Avoid quick, sweeping motions, as these can sometimes cause the controller to misinterpret your actions.

  • Consider the Apple TV Remote App: Download the Apple TV Remote app on your iPhone or iPad as an alternative control option. Many users find that the app’s interface can be more responsive and intuitive, allowing for smoother navigation.

Important Bluetooth Connection Limitations

AppleTV supports only two active Bluetooth connections at a time. This may impact your setup if you’re using multiple devices.

Examples of Common Device Pairs:

  • Smart trainer and power meter (this setup works well)
  • If you connect three devices or more, Apple TV will randomly select two devices which may interrupt your training data. For example: power meter, HR monitor, and trainer.

Tip: Choose only two devices for each training session to ensure consistent and accurate data.

How to Resolve Connection Issues

If you’re having trouble with Bluetooth connections on Apple TV, follow these steps:

  1. Log Out of TrainingPeaks Virtual: This will clear existing connections.
  2. Power On Only Two Devices: Select the two devices you want to use for your session (e.g., trainer and power meter).
  3. Log Back In: Once only two devices are active, log back into TP Virtual. The app will connect to the selected devices.

Important Note: After logging back in, avoid turning on or attempting to connect additional devices. Connecting more than two devices can overload the application and cause unexpected behavior.
